So, I let out a big LOL when I saw this piece by Chuck Klosterman on the importance of Albert Hammond Jr. to The Strokes. Because maybe I’m the only person in America to own BOTH of his solo albums? And I REALLY like them. I mean, I listen to them A FUCKING LOT.

I suppose there was some, as you say, malevolence of a sort in the early Smog stuff. When it was understood by others why I put it in there, it was a huge joy. I was going out on a limb and when I found there was weight for two people out there, it was such a joy.
